WD IFMR
Welcome to wdifmr.org, a resource for researchers working with the open-cluster white dwarf initial-final mass relation. The site provides downloadable IFMR data releases, documentation, figures, references, and analysis tools for applying published IFMRs.
IFMR tables and tools will be updated as new peer-reviewed results become available. Corrections and suggestions for new features are welcome at drmiller@phas.ubc.ca.
Current open-cluster white dwarf IFMR, combining the Miller et al. 2026a sample with additions from Miller et al. 2026b .
IFMR data
IFMR data is available in the below csv file. Columns are described in the accompanying README; methodological details are described in the associated publications.

Analysis tools
Initial-final mass conversions
A Python module for converting white dwarf progenitor masses to final white dwarf masses, or final masses back to possible progenitor masses, using a selection of published IFMR trends.
Includes IFMRs from Miller et al. (2026), Cunningham et al. (2024), Hollands et al. (2024), Marigo et al. (2020), Cummings et al. (2018), and El-Badry et al. (2018). The default relation is the Miller et al. (2026) Full Sample Fit 1. Please email requests for inclusion of additional trends.

Additional tools
Further cluster white dwarf and IFMR analysis tools are coming soon.
